Chat to other families
Every year, we support families to work through issues such as poverty, behavioural problems, health issues, problems with services and schools, relationship issues, communication breakdowns and countless other issues. We could not support these families without the dedication, commitment and passion of over 200 volunteers.
“It’s difficult to put into words how much volunteering and then working for Family Lives helped me – it was pivotal in getting me to where I am today, what with all the training and encouragement I received.”
Volunteers are vital to Family Lives and we have a wide range of opportunities available in many different areas of the country. If you have ever thought you’d like to help others cope with the ups and downs of family life, read more about the volunteering opportunities we offer. We also offer structured internships at our central and local offices - please see Work for us for details.

Family Lives are very proud to be a winner of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Volunteering Award 2012 recognising the passion and commitment of all our volunteers and the vital work they do to support families.
The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Volunteering Award 2012 was announced in February 2012 to commemorate Her Majesty’s sixty-year reign by recognising voluntary groups that operate across the UK or in the one of the four home nations. Read more about the award.
