Virgin Sport British 10k 

Sunday 9th July

Take part in the Virgin Sport 10k London Run and enjoy the fastest way to tour central London’s famous landmarks from Piccadilly to Whitehall with a route that races past Regent Street, Trafalgar Square, the Embankment, Westminster Bridge and Westminster Abbey. The 10k route really does encompass everything that is great about London and is ideal both for those taking on their first running event, and experienced runners looking for that PB.

Great North Run

Sunday 10th September

The Great North Run, broadcast live on the BBC, sees thousands of runners take on the half marathon challenge every year. Starting in Newcastle upon Tyne the 13.1 mile course is lined with supporters all the way from the iconic Tyne Bridge, right out towards the coast in South Shields.  Since 1981 the world's greatest half marathon has welcomed over one million people across the finish line in South Shields.

Starting in Newcastle upon Tyne the 13.1 mile route takes runners through the city centre towards the River Tyne where thousands of people will cross over the iconic Tyne Bridge, where if you're lucky, you might get a glimpse of the Red Arrows passing overhead. From there runners will travel through Gateshead while being entertained many bands on the run. The route, lined by thousands of supporters, leads runners to South Shields where at the top of Prince Edward Road the view of the sea is one of the most welcoming sights along the whole course.

Great Newham Run

Sunday 2nd July

Come and enjoy the day in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. The 10K event is part of an exciting day of running in London. All runners in the 10k will get the chance to have their very own Olympic moment as they finish inside the Stadium and cross the famous finish line and running track, which saw Olympic greats Usain Bolt, Jessica Ennis-Hill and Mo Farah race across in 2012. The course will also take in the sights of Lee Valley VeloPark, the London Aquatics Centre and the Copper Box Arena.


All you need to do to take part is email us registering your interest, pay the registration fee (£30 for both the Newham 10k and British 10k or £50 for the Great North Run) and pledge to raise the minimum sponsorship amount (£250 for both the Newham 10k and British 10k or £400 for the Great North Run) for Family Lives.

Once registered you'll receive a full fundraising pack which includes your free Family Lives t-shirt/running vest, sponsorship forms plus further advice and materials on fundraising and the work of the charity.
