Volunteers Week 2013

Volunteers’ Week  is an annual campaign which takes place on the 1st to 7th June and celebrates the amazing contribution volunteers make across the UK.  This year’s Volunteers’ Week focuses on saying ‘Thank You’ to volunteers and to recognise the way that organisations, like Family Lives, celebrate the work of volunteers across the UK.

Family Lives support families to work through issues such as poverty, behavioural problems, relationship issues and countless other issues. We could not support these families without the dedication, commitment and passion of over 200 volunteers who work for Family Lives.

“It’s difficult to put into words how much volunteering and then working for Family Lives helped me – it was pivotal in getting me to where I am today, what with all the training and encouragement I received.”

Family Lives is delighted to be a recipient of The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Volunteering Award 2012, which commemorates Her Majesty’s 60-year reign. Volunteers are integral to the work of Family Lives and enable us to maintain and diversify the ways in which we support families and parents throughout the U.K.  The majority of our services are volunteer-led and families tell us that our volunteer support workers offer a vital source of support. We offer services to every member of the family, whatever their needs and all our support is tailored by our understanding of families and the issues that affect them. Volunteers are the backbone of Family Lives and we are delighted that their contribution has been recognised by Her Majesty.

To support Volunteers’ Week 2013, we are holding various events to celebrate and acknowledge the valuable contribution our volunteers make to Family Lives.
