Family Lives is a leading national family support charity. We provide 24 hour support, seven days a week through a range of innovative and integrated services, engaging with over 2.5 million families and young people through our digital communications, helpline and face to face support. The Family Support Coordinator will be responsible for providing high quality family support to parents and carers and volunteer management to a cohort of 15 volunteers within Family Lives policies and procedures.

The Family Support Coordinator will work closely with colleagues and key stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of the ‘Afghan Families’ project in the London borough of Ealing. The project aims to support Afghan families, particularly to avoid relationship break up, reducing isolation and conflict within the family.

You will have extensive experience of recruiting training and supporting volunteers and supporting families within the context of a helping environment, either face to face or on the phone. The successful candidate will also have experience of working with minority groups and of delivering workshops and groups.

Experience of engaging parents and working with professionals to set up referral routes and informal partnerships is essential. The ability to listen with empathy as well as having a high standard of written and verbal communication are essential. Commitment to safeguarding vulnerable adults and children, as well as commitment to equal opportunities principle and practice are essential.
