This is an exciting opportunity for a Family Support Worker to work with families in Nottingham to improve their health and wellbeing.  

The Energise Families project in Nottingham supports vulnerable and low income families through befriending visits and encouraging light physical activity to improve mental and physical health and wellbeing. Volunteers visit each family for up to six months.

The successful candidate will support the Project Coordinator to build contacts with Nottingham organisations and agencies to promote this new project. You will do assessment meetings with families and manage and supervise a small group of volunteers who support them. You will deliver sessions with families in their homes and local community to introduce them to a range of indoor and outdoor activities which will increase their physical activity, such as walking and games in the park. You will also be responsible for collecting and entering accurate referral information and project data into data bases.

You are required to have experience of contacting organisations and be able to engage with families from a diverse range of people, including those experiencing deprivation. The ability to listen with empathy, develop trusting relationships with families and work collaboratively both internally and with outside agencies are essential. You will have a high standard of written and verbal communication. Commitment to safeguarding vulnerable adults and children, as well as commitment to equal opportunities principle and practice are also essential to this post.

This role is a zero hours post, meaning there are no guaranteed hours. However, on average we expect there to be 12 hours per week of work and the post holder to have this minimum availability. The role is fixed term to end of March 2021.
