Would you like to join a dedicated and active team of Trustees who oversee the work of a leading family charity?

We are a national charity looking for two new Trustees who share our values and are passionate about supporting parents, carers and families. In particular, we would like to hear from individuals with:
• Experience of safeguarding and risk of harm issues within a professional context
• Corporate experience
• Political experience
• Black/ ethnic minority perspectives

To be appointed you must have a strong personal commitment to the vision and values of Family Lives.  You should have experience of operating within a board or committee structure or a comparable role, in a charitable, public sector or commercial organisation as well as proven track record of effective and independent decision-making. An understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship and commitment to equality of opportunity and diversity are essential.

You will be supported by the Chief Executive, the Directorate and an experienced team of managers, staff and volunteers. The Board meets 5 times a year either in central London or at Family Lives’ offices in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, plus there is an annual Away Day. In addition, there are committees and promotional events to which you will be invited. The participation of Trustees is unpaid, however expenses incurred can be reimbursed. In return for your service on the Board of Trustees we can offer a chance to really make a difference in the lives of parents, carers and families, and a chance to provide the charity with the strategic direction to ensure its success into the future.

Applicants from outside London will be welcome.
