We are seeking to recruit a Volunteer Development Officer with strong project management, volunteer management and family support skills to develop and monitor a ‘whole family approach’ project in the Ealing Borough. The project will provide a targeted service to families who have at least one child aged 5-10 years old through a volunteer workforce. They will support families from low socio-economic groups to cope with family life and the challenges they face with the ultimate aim of becoming more physically active together.

The Volunteer Development Officer will have experience of providing targeted help to families through the use of assessment and monitoring tools and be confident in the collection and analysis of data that relates to the project.

The successful candidate will have experience in the recruitment, training and ongoing management of volunteers and knowledge of the role of volunteers in community projects. You will also need to have the ability to use your own initiative and possess excellent communication, organisational and administrative skills.

The ability to listen with empathy as well as having a high standard of written and verbal communication and presentation skills are essential.  Commitment to safeguarding vulnerable adults and children, as well as commitment to equal opportunities principles and practice are also required. Comprehensive knowledge of local agencies, networks and partnerships within the area of family support is desirable.

The post will involve working in the community in Ealing and you will do some work from home so will need to have a suitable home working environment. As regular travel around the Ealing area and the surrounding areas will be required a full driving licence and a car or suitable alternative means of travelling are required. You will need to live within 1.5 hours travelling distance from Ealing.
