Deidre Sanders, our President, has been awarded an MBE for her achievements and service in the New Year Honours list. We are very proud of her achievement and would like to send her our heartfelt congratulations and thanks for all her support as President over the last ten years.

Jeremy Todd, Family Lives Chief Executive, says “Deidre is a person of huge integrity and someone who cares deeply about the work that she does, and its impact on others. She is the nation’s most recognisable agony aunt and has worked with charities over many years, and it has been my honour to work with her in her role first as Patron, then as President, of Family Lives.

Deidre has a very clear understanding of the issues that affect families and vulnerable individuals and provides excellent, accessible advice to those who contacted her through her daily column and TV work. She has made such a difference to so many and I remain very grateful to have met and worked alongside her.”

Deidre has been the resident agony aunt on ITV’s daily This Morning programme for many years and edited the daily Dear Deidre problem-page in The Sun from 1980 to 2020.
