Anti bullying week 2024

This week marks the start of anti bullying week and we have lots of resources and helpful bullying advice

Run an event in your area

Do you want to run a fundraising event for Family Lives but you’re not sure what to do? Here are some great ideas on different types of events, from cake sales to clothes swaps.

We have some tips and tricks to run a successful event to help us support over 1 million families every year. Giving time and energy to raise money for Family Lives can be rewarding and fun, especially if you get your friends and family involved. And it really doesn’t matter how much you raise, small amounts really add up and help to support families who need our help.

Fundraising is a personal thing and it should be fun - choose something that you will enjoy getting involved with.  You can also download our fundraising pack for more inspiration and tips on how to run a successful event.

Cakes and cookies

Who can resist a homemade cake? Bake some treats and take them to the office to sell - a guaranteed way to raise some cash.

Charity quiz

Running a quiz night is a great way to get the Family Lives name out there and raise money at the same time, encourage friends to form teams and get competitive! Check out the internet for help with quiz questions.

Car boot sale

A great excuse to have a real spring clean and get rid of all your unwanted goods. You’d be surprised at how much money selling bric a brac or clothes etc. can raise, as the saying goes, ‘one man’s junk is another man’s treasure’! And don’t forget that you can just sell it via ebay and donate that way too.

Clothes swap

This is a brilliant way to get yourself a new wardrobe while raising funds for Family Lives. Invite your friends to bring their unwanted clothes to your event, pay a fiver for entry, and let the swapping commence! Guests will receive a token for every item they bring which they then use to ‘buy’ other items. This is a really simple and fun way to raise money.
