Hillingdon Family Support

We know that parenting can be incredibly satisfying and rewarding, but we also know that sometimes it can be challenging. It is at times like this when you may need some support.

Family Lives has been supporting families for over 40 years and as such has a wealth of experience and resources to help parents navigate their way through a variety of challenges. You may be facing issues such as:

  • Setting routines and boundaries
  • Understanding children’s behaviour and setting limits
  • Improving children’s wellbeing and confidence
  • Co-parenting tips and support
  • Hassle free shopping
  • Developing good bedtime routines

Parent Support Service (PSS)

Individual Support: A family support worker provides confidential, tailored 1:1 support for families facing complex challenges. Using Family Lives models, we deliver 6-8 structured sessions, online, at home, or in the community, focused on building parenting skills and strategies. We accept referrals involving mild to moderate mental health concerns, such as anxiety, stress, or depression affecting daily life.

Group Support: Group courses and seminars are offered each academic term throughout the borough to support those parents whose children are exhibiting mild to moderate behavioural and emotional challenges, including:

  • Managing challenging or disruptive behaviour
  • Emerging additional needs
  • Parental conflict
  • Managing screentime
  • Safeguarding issues

Parent Champion Carer Network (PCCN)

Parents of children at risk of criminal justice involvement often face stigma and judgment. This programme offers a peer-led approach that builds trust faster than traditional services, supporting families whose children are experiencing:

  • Missing episodes
  • Anti-social peers
  • Aggression towards other family members
  • CCE or CSE concerns
  • Excluded or at risk of exclusion
  • Emotional based school avoidance
  • Involved in substance misuse
  • Social, emotional or mental health issues
