Family Lives mourns the passing of Queen Elizabeth II

It is with great sadness that we join the nation in mourning the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

A statement from Jeremy Todd, Chief Executive of Family Lives

Family Lives was extremely fortunate to be honoured by the late Queen for our work with volunteering. We were the recipient of The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Volunteering Award 2012, which commemorated Her Majesty’s 60-year reign, and we honour the memory of our Queen and the award given to us.

Throughout her reign the Queen has supported many charities, highlighting the important work they do and making an enormous difference to many people’s lives. She was resilient, resolute, and loyal and she leaves a lasting legacy across the world. Our thoughts are with the royal family at this time.

We recognise that this will be a time of national mourning and grief that pulls on many of our own experiences and those who call us for support.

We understand that it may be difficult to talk to your children about bereavement and grief. We have some guidance that may help you through this.
